I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really happening.
